Skip Hop

This week, Lee from Skip Hop visited to show us how to skip.  We learned how to hold a skipping rope, skip forwards and backwards, skip in pairs and skip with long ropes.  We are going to practice at home and school!!

Africa

We are learning about the country Zambia in Africa.  African children's lives are quite different to ours.  We did a mini project where we wrote two things we learned about Zambia.

We are reading the story 'Handa's Surprise', an African story.  We watched an animation of the story.
Handa's Surprise

We did a lot of activities about this story. One was an Art lesson where we drew the fruits in Handa's basket.

Healthy Habits

In Science, we are talking about our bodies and how we have changed since we were babies.  We also chatted about the ways we take care of our bodies.  We made a photo story to remind everyone of the healthy habits they need for a healthy body.

This fortnight, our Aistear theme is 'Healthy Habits'. St. Attracta's Gym will open and lots of other exciting play stations will keep us busy!
